Batch and Tag Generation:
In jewel box the Batch and Tag module is an inventory process. This process is designed specifically to enhance the inventory management module of SAP B1 with respect to the jewelery sector. This process enables a jeweler to capture all the details pertaining to the end product. The details captured include the gold content, the Karat value of the gold ornament, the stone details as well as the making and wastage charges.
This module is divided into 2 sections:
- Batch/Lot Generation
- Tag Generation
Weighing Scale, Bar Code and Image Capturing are the additional features provided in Jewel Box to eliminate human error, there by enhancing the productivity and keeping in line with advanced technologies.
Batch/Lot Generations:
In Jewel box, batch generation is the entry point for finished products into the inventory. Here the jeweler identifies all particulars for the end product, for example the details of vendor/Gold-Smith, the model code, the weight, the number of tags and the sales counter to which the product is issued to. In the Batch generation the stock will not be affected. The batches generated in this process will later be used for the tag generation.
Tag Generations:
The tag generation process is where the composition of the end product is captured. Details involving gold content, stone details and the additional charges incurred are captured by the jeweler. These details are used to alter the inventory details maintained in SAP B1 Inventory module as required. The Tags generated are marked with a unique barcode for each item hence making the system a barcode integrated system. Using the Jewel Box and SAP B1 Functionality the jeweler will be able to monitor the Sales in terms of quantity and weight on a daily basis.
